Spring Equinox Ritual

Saturday, March 19th, 2011

Charter Oak Grove’s equinox ritual honoring Rosmerta and Mercury was a success. We called upon Dea Matrona as the Earth Mother, Cernnunos as the Gatekeeper, Brigindona as the patron of inspiration, and–of course–Rosmerta and Mercury as the deities of the occasion. The blessings we received were: From the Ancestors: the sow–generosity. From the Nature Spirits: [...]

Charter Oak Grove is very excited to announce our brand new ADF festival: Harvest Nights Gathering! The festival will be taking place at Camp Bonnie Brae in Otis, MA on October 14-16, 2011, and it is the only festival in New England. We will offer workshops and a wonderful opportunity to meet your fellow ADF [...]

Yule Ritual

Sunday, December 19th, 2010

Yule with Charter Oak Grove was wonderful, as expected. We honored Aengus Mac Óg as the deity of the occasion. We also had a wonderful turnout–we had 11 people participating in the main ritual (and 17 people, including spouses and children, present). I’m very excited about how well our little grove is doing (especially comparing [...]

Samhain ritual

Monday, November 1st, 2010

Yesterday Charter Oak Grove had a wonderful Samhain ritual. We honored Cathubodua and the Ancestors, using the Gaulish hearth culture for the ritual. In spite of the wind (which did not quite blow out our candles) and the cold, the rite went very well. We honored the Ancestors in four parts (Ancestors of Humanity, Blood, [...]

Recent Omens

Friday, October 22nd, 2010

I’ve been doing daily practice rituals leading up to my role at Charter Oak Grove‘s Samhain on the 31st. Nothing really surprising about that, my knowledge of the liturgical bits and pieces that are new is improving just as I expected. After all, practice makes perfect. Also, the Kindred seem to be pretty happy with [...]

on Longing

Monday, September 20th, 2010

One of the omens from Charter Oak’s Autumn Equinox Ritual was Longing, so I have been thinking about that a lot since yesterday.

Pagan Pride Day

Saturday, August 28th, 2010

Charter Oak Protogrove had two members at a table throughout today’s Pagan Pride Day in Berlin, Connecticut. We were there to answer questions about Our Druidry, to share our grief over the loss of Isaac, but mostly to let people know that there are Druids in Connecticut. Although there was not a great turn-out to [...]

Summer Solstice Celebration

Monday, June 14th, 2010

I celebrated the Summer Solstice with Charter Oak Protogrove on June 13, 2010. We had three grove members in attendance, as well our Regional Druid (who drove all the way up from New Jersey) and a guest. Not a huge turn-out, but our largest ritual so far. We originally planned to hold the ritual at [...]

Charter Oak Beltane and Trail Cleanup

Monday, May 3rd, 2010

Charter Oak‘s Beltane celebration kicked off with a short hike into Meshomasic “here be rattlers” State Forest to the top of Kongscut Mt. We had the same group of people we’ve been having at the our previous rituals, which worked out very well for us and gave us a chance to work together over a [...]
